After meeting at the time indicated at the distinctive reddish façade of the entrance to the Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir Temple, which you'll spot for its red facade, we'll begin our free walking tour of Delhi. Ready? Let’s go!
The oldest Jain temple in Delhi
The first stop on the route is the building you find in front of you, the Digambar Jain Lal temple, the oldest shrine to Jainism in the capital of India. Here, in one of the founding districts of Delhi, Chandni Chowk, you'll also discover the Red Fort, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
Bazaars of Delhi
During this tour, we'll browse some of the numerous bazaars which will mesmerize you with their variety of typical Indian products including spices, materials, and jewellery. Whether you love shopping or not, you're sure to be enchanted! The next stop will be Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahid, a Sij temple built at the end of the 18th century.
The Golden Mosque
We will also pass the Golden Mosque, constructed between 1747 and 1751 and which stands out for its three domes, which were originally a copper colour. Then, we'll reach the City Hall where there once stood a statue of Queen Victoria which was replaced by the statue of Swami Shraddhanand that you can see today,
The Jama Masjid
We will end this free tour admiring the facades of one of the most famous buildings in the capital of India, the Jama Masjid mosque. DId you know that it's one of the biggest in the country?
